🔹 What is the Unified Shram Suvidha Portal (USSP)?

The Unified Shram Suvidha Portal is an initiative of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.

It provides a single-window online platform for employers to comply with various labour laws and social security schemes.

Launched in 2014, it integrates multiple organizations like:

  • EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation)

  • ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation)

  • Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)

  • DGMS / DGFASLI (Directorate General of Mines Safety / Factory Safety)

  • And other labour-related bodies


🔹 Key Features

  1. Single Registration

    • Employers can obtain a Labour Identification Number (LIN) → a unique ID linked to all labour laws.

  2. Single Portal for Compliances

    • One place for filing returns, maintaining records, and responding to inspections.

  3. Transparency in Inspections

    • Computerized inspection scheme → inspectors are assigned randomly.

    • Employers can view inspection reports online.

  4. Integration with EPFO & ESIC

    • Unified filing of returns for EPF, ESI, CLRA, ISMW, and other labour laws.

  5. Ease of Doing Business

    • Reduces duplication of work, simplifies compliance for multiple Acts.
